Matt LeBlanc prefers family life to stardom

02/11/2005 at 10:53 AM ET

While Kate Winslet thinks work is a vacation, Matt LeBlanc would be happy to quit the entertainment industry.  Matt, star of his own Friends spinoff/vehicle, Joey, said he would happily leave acting to devote himself to wife Melissa McKnight and their 11-month-old daughter Marina.  The fact that Marina is suffering from a neurological disorder may play a huge part in this.

However, he accepts he’s a talented sitcom performer who relies on the financial benefits of his job.  He says,

"My favourite thing is not to work. I like to be with my family or my friends, to ride my bike.  "This is a steady gig. I come here, I’m good at it, I know how to do it. I know what the ins and outs are, I know all the people and I trust them. So I do my thing, go home and live my life.

Maybe having a daughter, maybe that’s what it was, but life’s too short to be stressing out about your career. I don’t care as much as I used to."

I’m not sure how well Joey is doing in the ratings but if it gets cancelled, Matt may get his wish!

Mom Said It

"I had to make a decision that I could sleep with every night. I did feel responsible for the young girls who I probably confused and let down. I apologize for that. But I wasn't trying to glamorize teen pregnancy."
