Another proud rocker writes a song

02/06/2005 at 06:00 PM ET

Stereophonics frontman Kelly Jones has written a tribute song to celebrate the birth of his and girlfriend Rebecca Walter’s first child Lolita Bootsy (Bootsy???), who was born in January.  A family friend says, "Kelly loves the name, he’s even written a song called ‘Lolita’ for their new album." The track will feature on the Welsh rocker’s forthcoming album, LANGUAGE SEX VIOLENCE OTHER?, which hits stores in March.

Could Bootsy be from legendary ‘funk’ master Bootsy Collins? His brother’s called Catfish so watch out!

The little girl of Kelly Jones is not born in January but the 24th of October 2004 ;-)

On a kind of similar note, has anyone heard Athletes current song (prob only UK people) Wires, its about the lead singers daughter being rushed into intensive care, really beautiful song.

I was just about to post about Kelly’s daughter being born in October too. I’ve heard the song written about Lolita, unfortunately I wasn’t impressed. imagine ‘Lolita’ said in a Welsh accent!

Ani: I’ve heard it, absolutely gorgeous tune. did you hear it played live, yes I had a tear ;)

I love the song Wires by Athlete but I had no idea it was about his daughter being hospitalized. Very beautiful song.

By the way, does anyone know if the lead singer from ATHLETE’s daughter was ok? The song is a tiny bit ambiguous but I am guessing she was alright? Does anyone have info on that?

I checked again and found out she is fine. I wanted to know if she had any long term complications from the issues she was having but I wondered if she is healthy now. Turns out, she is just fine!

Does anyone know why she was rushed to the ER?

Rye on

Well, apparently she was actually a newborn baby. The father had just left the hospital to go get something at home when he got a call saying the baby was convulsing and having seizures and his girlfriend or wife called him telling him she didn’t know if the baby was going to make it or not and to hurry to the hospital.
