Breaking News: Brad and Jen Formally Separate

I know this isn’t baby news, but since many people were expecting them to be the next to announce a pregnancy…

Hollywood power couple Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt have decided to separate after four and 1/2 years of marriage, PEOPLE magazine reports exclusively.

"We would like to announce that after seven years together we have decided to formally separate. For those who follow these sorts of things, we would like to explain that our separation is not the result of any of the speculation reported by the tabloid media. This decision is the result of much thoughtful consideration," Pitt and Aniston said in a joint statement. "We happily remain committed and caring friends with great love and admiration for one another. We ask in advance for your kindness and sensitivity in the coming months."

Aniston’s rep Stephen Huvane and Pitt’s rep Cindy Guagenti declined further comment.

Pitt, 41, met Aniston, 35, when they were set up on a dinner date in 1998. The pair kept their relationship under wraps for months, and eventually wed in a lavish ceremony in Malibu, Calif., on July 29, 2000. The wedding featured some 200 guests, 50,000 flowers, four bands, a gospel choir and fireworks. "Jennifer looked beautiful," her father, Days of Our Lives actor John Aniston, 71, told PEOPLE after escorting his daughter down the aisle. "It was a spectacular wedding."

In 2002, Aniston told PEOPLE that she and Pitt were looking forward to starting a family: "Absolutely it will happen but probably not for a while. Probably Friends will end, close that chapter, and see where we go."

Recently, Aniston – who has been busy with movie projects – was photographed not wearing her diamond-studded wedding ring, and tabloid reports spoke of marital trouble. Yet the couple spent New Year’s weekend vacationing on the Caribbean island of Anguilla with former Friends costar Courteney Cox and David Arquette.

Ohmigod…Why is everyone so caught up in the expected beauty of their babies? The kids would’ve resembled neither parent. First, both kids would have dark hair (parents bleach theirs). Second, Jennifer not only had a nose job (duh!), she had electrolysis on her forehead. Her natural hairline is (was) lower and hid her face more. Sorry, I’m sad for whomever was the reluctant party in this break-up, but the world will survive the loss of two potentially “beautiful” children. Jeezus!

So weird to get my People mag today and see “Brad and Jen’s Romantic Getaway” hours after reading in the newspaper that they’ve separated. I knew this was coming. Just like John Stamos and Rebecca Romijn. They just got too caught up in their careers and too used to being apart and didn’t have children to bind them together. It’s sad. I’m sure their baby would have been beautiful, not because they’re attractive, but because all babies are beautiful (even if it got Jen’s old nose and hairline and whatever is unattractive about Brad).

Rumor has it Angelina Jolie had something to do with it. They’ve been filming a new movie together and sources say they were very friendly towards each other. Also, that Jennifer wasn’t ready for babies and Brad wants them desperately. Now, if Jolie and Pitt have a baby together that would be a GORGEOUS baby!

I think Jen is crazy for not wanting to have kids with Brad. That’s obviously what he wanted and she didn’t so I guess they had to end. That’s what I believe happened. I don’t think it had anything to do with wanting to get with Angelina. Her having Maddox probably just threw kids up in his face more. He wants little girls! Angelina doesn’t want to have kids of her own. Maybe Brad can go find someone more beautiful than Jen to have kids with. HA! Hopefully.

I’m pretty sure that they both wanted to have kids…Brad mentioned on an interview about Ocean’s 12 that he desperately wanted children and Jennifer said that she wanted to start having children after Friends had finished…but who knows maybe that is the case because she started filming movies very soon after the show was over. I still find it depressing either way. I can’t believe it. Wouldn’t it be cool if she found out she was pregnant and then they got back together..lol..gosh. I think I’m crazy.

Well, it is a good thing that Jen stuck to her guns because it shows that she’s thinking best for their/her future children, herself and Pitt. If she allowed herself to be persuaded, the divorce would be on the cards and their child would suffer from it. I have never been keen on Aniston but I have to admire her for standing by her needs and beliefs instead of doing what everyone else wants her to do. After all children should be born to a couple who BOTH want to be parents.

I don’t know what to say…it’s sad. Because I like them both, they are both likeable unlike Bennifer which I may say everyone was relieved once that was over (maybe cuz they both are kinda cocky or at least seemed it when the were together) But you know I dont think Brad doesnt have anything to worry abt, he can get any woman, Jen on the otherhand I think will end up regretting this breakup. I mean he was the trophy husband and not the other way around. I think Brad and Britney should get together cuz she seems all baby crazy and will have a better chance of giving him the 7 babies he wants….plus theyve both expressed admiration for eachother. Doubt it. They have all the money in the world for in vitro, if that didn’t work, they could certainly pay a surrogate like Joan Lunden, Peri Gilpin and Kelsey Grammer’s wife did.

From everything I’ve read, Brad wants kids NOW and Jen keeps putting it off. She said she would after Friends, but then she signed on for 4 or 5 film projects.

That’s just gossip that I wouldn’t like to believe, but who knows. Billy Bob WAS engaged to Laura Dern when they got together, so I wouldn’t put her past taking another woman’s man, but the gossip mill puts Angelina with every costar she has (Colin Farrell, Antonio Banderas etc.)

I’m bummed. But those of us who are married know it’s hard (but rewarding) to keep a relationship going. I’d hoped that Brad and Jen were thoughtful and unselfish enough to know that different isn’t necessarily better–it’s just different. Why not stick with the person you’re building a history with, then? But if he wants a baby and she doesn’t (a realization she must have grown into since she’s said she wanted kids), that’s going to take a heap of unselfishness on someone’s part to stay together and do it either his way or hers. Still, other married couples do it all the time …

I say who cares. These people have it made and at the end of the day they have more money than god. She could hire nannies and be back in shape with a famous personal trainer in 6 months. Well,I’m sure you heard the news,Jennifer offically filed for divorce.That sure quashes any hopes most of you had for them to get back together.Know what,they’re moving on and I think you all should too.I agree the world will survive the “loss”of the lovely kids they could’ve had.I never really cared for both anyway,the only celeb I think will make lovely kids is Trent Reznor.
