I saw Coco!

08/06/2004 at 04:30 PM ET

That would be Coco Hayley Gordon Moore, daughter of Sonic Youth couple Kim Gordon and Thurston Moore.Last week, my husband and I were vacationing in Montreal. On Tuesday night, we had dinner at Au Pied de Cochon (Pig’s Foot) when an extremely tall man walked past our table. I thought it was Beck but then my husband pointed out that Beck’s not that tall. I then realized that it was Thurston Moore and about a minute later, he walked past our table again with a little girl with long blonde hair who appeared to be about 8 years old. He brought her to the bathroom and then back to the table. They were sitting with a group of people and though I couldn’t see her from where we sat, I knew that Kim Gordon had to be there too. No one else seemed to really notice them, but the staff did pay a lot of attention to them. I didn’t want to be annoying so I didn’t ask to take a photo or even try to sneak one. Later, I discovered that they were playing at a local Montreal venue the next night. The funny thing is that they live in NYC, as do I, but I don’t see them until I go to another country!

Mom Said It

"We weren't trying to have kids. We left it up to fate. I knew there was a possibility, but I was really excited. Even if you are trying, just to see a positive result is shocking!"
