Rowling to hear Potter of tiny feet

07/25/2004 at 11:35 PM ET

JK Rowling has announced that she and her husband Dr Neil Murray are expecting a baby.I didn’t report this earlier because I thought it was old info, because I remember her being pregnant last year, but then I read it in a second place.  Expect to see this headline (lifted from The Scotsman) to appear in many a tabloid. The baby will be her second child with Murray, an anaesthesiologist whom she met at a friend’s dinner party. The couple’s first child, David, was born in March last year.   Her first child is Jessica, 10.JK said: “I am delighted to say that I am expecting a third baby, who is due next year. I always wanted three children so I could not be happier.”The author, who recently announced that the sixth book in her series would be called Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince, added: “Now I know many Harry Potter fans will be worried about what this means for the timing of book six.  But let me reassure all of you that book six remains well on track and, fingers crossed of course, I don’t foresee any baby-related interruptions or delays.  I still can’t say when it will be finished but I have written a lot and I really like it.”Whew!

Mom Said It

"We weren't trying to have kids. We left it up to fate. I knew there was a possibility, but I was really excited. Even if you are trying, just to see a positive result is shocking!"
