Last four episodes of Will & Grace will be Grace-less

04/03/2004 at 12:18 AM ET

Debra Messing’s doctor has told her to "take it easy" so she will not be appearing in the last four episodes of this season of Will and Grace.  There are apparently no complications.  Seeing as Debra’s baby is due at the end of this month, this is akin to the "bed rest" my friend Liz was granted by her doctor allowing her to work from home for the last two months of her pregnancy or at the very least, maternity leave for a sitcom star.

The last four episodes will be focused on Karen’s wedding to John Cleese’s character.  Debra has been rewritten out of the episodes with the excuse that Grace is sick and can’t participate.  Her pregnancy has not been included in the show’s plot.  Rather- they have used the old TV trick of hiding her belly beneath loose clothes, props and furniture, not to mention, making her extra lazy.  You can look forward to Jennifer Lopez’s appearance on the April 29 hour-long finale.

Mom Said It

"I had to make a decision that I could sleep with every night. I did feel responsible for the young girls who I probably confused and let down. I apologize for that. But I wasn't trying to glamorize teen pregnancy."
